Scheduling policies
All users must schedule an appointment to use facility instrumentation. Please see below for scheduling guidelines. Timely scheduling allows the core to maximize the availability of instrumentation for all researchers.

-
Assisted users – schedule appointments at least 2 full business days in advance
-
Unassisted users – schedule appointments at least 1 full business day in advance
-
Same day appointments:
-
Same-day bookings are at the discretion of core staff and depend on instrument availability, set-up time, and the availability of core staff for set-up and assistance (as needed). This is especially important to keep in mind for assisted users who require staff assistance to run their samples.
-
Weekdays (when facility staff is available) – at the core staff’s discretion and dependent upon instrument and operator availability
-
After-hours users (weekday):
-
Must contact the facility (preferably by both email and in-person)
-
Should be prepared to set up the instrument themselves
-
-
Weekends, holidays, or other days when core staff is out-of-office, and there is no sign-up sheet posted:
-
Limited to after-hours authorized users only
-
Users must notify facility staff prior to instrument use, even if staff may not see the request until they return
-
Core staff will add the appointment to the schedule afterward
-
After-hours users may not set up instruments for researchers who are not authorized for after-hours access
