Facility services

The flow cytometry core facility offers analysis, sorting and cell counting services. It has two conventional sorters, the Aria IIu and SH800, two analyzers, the CytoFLEX LX and MACSQuant VYB, and one large particle sorter, the COPAS Select. It also houses a Moxi Z cell counter and QuadroMACS and miniMACS magnetic cell separation systems.

FACSAria IIu (Athena) - Cell Sorter (technician run)

5 lasers (355nm, 407nm, 488nm, 561nm and 640nm) w/ 14 fluorescent detectors
4 nozzle sizes (70um, 85um, 100um, and 130um)
Aerosol management system and temperature control

1 laser (488nm) w/ 3 fluorescent detectors
500 micron flow cell to collect particles from 20-350 micron in diameter
1-way sorting into petri dish or multi-well plate
Advanced Acquisition Package (AAP) for increased sensitivity and faster analysis

Reports both cell counts and concentrations of a cell population
